Players Purposefully Waiting
I am playing a tournament that started about a week ago, and there is this one guy who has been only a couple hours short of the full 3 days to make a move. For each move, in each of his games. Yes, as long as he is not reaching the limit he is doing nothing illegal, that's what the time-limit is for, but:
He waited almost 3 days to make his FIRST move for each game in the tournament. I mean come on, what are you gonna study?
I would use that time to study your archive and find your weaknesses.

Haven't made any progress with the patience thing yet, have you?

Looks like you have come full circle...Now to learn from this.
That's nothing. People dig up way older threads than this.

I found the thread and added something that was new. Your right-wing friend then sullied things with a photo of our next President.
Semi, Non- Sequitur - Since there are Many circumstances in Life; Where a person might be 'a player' {of some sort}.. but otherwise, 'purposefully waiting' to see what happens, in a More, to much More, 'Transcendant' area of Life; My own {latest}, combination insight, and personal experience - is that, there's a 'fine line' as it were; Between considering the proverbial 'glass' or cup; Half- full, or half empty!
The former, {if perceived as, with conditions getting better}; Is a prescription, for improved mental health!; Whilst, the contrarian view, of 'half- empty'; Makes one prone, to {further}, worry-and-fear; And, is a slippery slope, to potential serious psychological & psychic instabilities!
Being that 'faith'..{and not necessarily God related}; Is the opposite of 'fear' {or Fear!}; In Any number of Life's areas; Without elaborating, too much, in a Scripture sense; The Bible, Does give support to the view, that one Can have the one.. {fear or personally believed faith}; If not, completely, without the other; Then, by-and-large so! I don't mind if it takes my opponent forever to move or right to the last second. I have too many games on the go as usual. I try to accept game requests out of politeness. I accepted one game request from two different people and the system glitched with them and I am now playing three games as the same color against both of these people. And it was set at random. So I ended up with six games a white. And what other choice do I have but to play these games. I have a ultra busy life, so somethimes I come on and I have maybe 10 games that all have under 6 hours left to make a move and I try to get this all done without going on vacation time which has happened a couple of times.
But for some people I think it is a control thing. I think if like the driver who does 5 under the speed limit all the way and as soon as the road breaks into two lanes they are doing 15km above. It's a control thing.
You could match it by making moves slow like they are. Or you could run too many games like me and then you would be fine with the delay. Or you could only accept games on a 24 hour clock.
What I find frustrating is being in a tournament (main reason why I have too many games going) and someone in your pod is on vacation. It's like....errr...are we ever going to get this done. The first tournament I joined in Oct, so that was a while ago now has just finally started round two and someone in my pod is on vacation, so when will round 3 start, 2018?

Do other stuff and don't worry about it. Some people like to pretend they are in control even when they are losing. Just be patient.
