playing bullet chess while you're on "vacation" in a tournament

i'm playing in my first tournament, and one of my opponents has gone on vacation a few times during our game....he's been on vacation for some time now....but i see that he played a whole bunch of bullet games just the other day, and the day before that as well....i don't understand how chess.com can allow that....how can you be on "vacation" in a tournament, but free to play as many bullet games as you like?

just doesn't seem right to me....

just to be clear, i understand that taking vacation time is within the rules, and i have no issue with that 

I do that kind of thing during finals sometimes. Go on vacation because I need to focus, and occasionally play a couple speed games to unwind.
