Greetings guys

I'm not sure why, but I find it dificult to avoid feeling stressed when I play, and it often start even as I'm getting ready for the game. Despite my effort to overcome it, it remain a challenge. My coach sugested simply relaxing to help reduce the stress.

Have any of you experienced something similar?

Every chess player get stressed when playing a game he/she thinks is important! Also the very best.

So finding your way to handle stress is a part of getting better. It could be simple breating exercises, sports psychology or playing with a longer time control. But you will never get rid of it. It is part of being human and loving the game.

Hello

TheFalconsDefense
I understand completely. Pressure can make focusing a lot harder, but I’ve found that having a routine or structure to your day before you play can really help ease the nerves. For example, I will only play rapid at night when my daughter and fiancé are asleep because the quiet makes it easier for me to focus.

Just find that works for you. Good luck!
