Tournament issue

He's been under the limit when he signed in. If going up in the ranks wasn't allowed, we'd just be playing unrated tournaments.

1. The director can remove the person if they choose

2. You can withdraw if you so choose

   - While on the tournament screen, to the right is tournament options, one is withdraw

Ratings fluctuate. It takes some time to fill a tournament. Likely the TDs rating rose above the limit after he legitimately entered.

You can withdraw from a tournament at any time and each incomplete game is resigned for you. It is better do resign each game individually so a withdrawal is not registered on your stats.

Since time outs now have no lasting effect, if you wish you can time out instead. Your rating will remain unaffected if there have been less than 7 plies played in a timed out game.

Just in case anyone is thinking about this option. Once you do this, you will likely go over 10% timeouts. You then have to wait 90 days to enter most tournaments.

Very interesting, in light of another current thread discussing whether TDs should be allowed to play in their own tournaments.  Many posts in that thread are claiming there's no reason not to let TDs participate in their own tournaments because there aren't any decisions they could make where a bias would make a difference.  This situation suggests otherwise.

I have written to him through the chat twice without reply which leads me to believe that he set the tournament up with an agenda; to cheat.

I won my group in the recent 22nd chess.com 1400-1600 tournament and wasn't entered into round two.another player also qualified from group 290 and he didn't get through either?
