Tournaments I'm eliminated from: why do they still appear?

Sort:

So tournaments that I've been eliminated from (although ones that are still in the same round) still appear in my "current tournaments." I assume this is so that I can see them to know that I was eliminated and in case I want to continue to follow them.

But is there any way I can hide or remove the ones I'm no longer interested in following on my "Tournaments" page? It leads to clutter, where half the lines are ones I'm no longer interested in, and I need to sort through the links to find the tournaments I'm still active in. I can't resign from the tournaments in question, presumably becasue I'm already eliminated.

At the moment there is no way to remove these tournaments from your "current tournaments" list which you have already been eliminated in however we will take note of this suggestion as it does make a lot of sense.

I also made this point several weeks ago

I keep a notebook of all the tourn's I'm entered in, then check off the tourn's I've been elimated from.  At least you have a total of tourn's you are actually still playing in.

Yeah, something needs to be done, please. I have no idea which tournaments are active for me. And as I can only enter 10, I need to see how many there are so I can choose which ones to enter.

I'd like to chime in with another request for this feature.

Dear points of view,

WHY OH WHY OH WHY do I have to scroll through a list of 40 tournaments to find the three I am still in! I find it INCREDIBLY annoying !!! Especially as a tounament I was knocked out of in week one can go on for months!!!!!!!!!!!! ( + one ! for hyperbole)

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make it an option to remove tournaments from the list of current tournament once one is eliminated.

I just finished a 10 min by 3 round <1000 tourny I which I finished in second place.

I was wondering just how that happened?, I played three rounds and one all the games, as all of my opponents disconnected which was annoying as I waited 20 mins for the thing to start and then only played 5 minutes of chess.

I did not play the eventual winner so how were final postions selected?

It looked to me as if the person with the highest rating one the tournament, simple because he out ranked my rating wise. If this is the case what is the point in entering as there will always be someone with a higher ranking then you.

Was this issue ever resolved.  I came to this thread because I have the same question and either it never got fixed or I just don't know how to do it.  Any help would be appreciated.  I really would like to hide or move to the "completed" section tournaments that I have been eliminated from.

BananaRepublic

No I heard nothing back ever.

This is my #1 issue with chess.com!  I sent them a suggestion to list tournaments like this:

Current : Tournaments where I have active games going

Pending (may need a better title) : Tournaments where I've advanced to the next round but that round has not yet started

Eliminated : Tournaments that are still in progress but from which I've been eliminated

Completed : Tournaments I was in but are now 100% completed

Joined : Tournaments I've joined but have not yet started.

This one little change would make me very, very happy.

I agree 100%. It's very annoying the way it is now.

Please change this.

I also agree. I also suggest chess.com starts taking suggestions seriously. I like this site, but if and when people start leaving it they will do so in great numbers. The level of support has not been as good as it could be.
