if it shows like this
kohai(unrated)
they do have a rating, but as they have played more unrated games than rated, their rating won't show until they finish their next rated game.

No need to post regarding his, ignore it, like I did.

sounds plausible until you look at particulars... I notice one player now has a total of 8 completed games, 6 of which are in the tournament. The 2 games pre-tournament were a loss on move 4 due to expired time and a win against an 860, also on expired time on move 4. Does this not look fishy?
So I ask how does this player get in an Under 1800 tournament?
I've let the programmer know about it. He needs to check to see what caused it before he can correct it.

Not necessarily. I have a rating have played more rated games than not. But in a tournament had no rating. What's wrong with that?

I finished my rated games but I didn't change to a rating I just stayed at "Unrated" that was until I won a rated game and only then did I change to a rating. Is that meant to happen?
This topic is about somebody who obviously scammed the system to get into a tournament dishonestly. Check out SonofaBishop67, playing at a 1900+ level after pretending to play 2 games. That's 2 games that lasted 3 moves.
His games in the "1800> Tournament!" should be forfeited. Otherwise there is no integrity to these tournaments.
Telling the programmer is fine so he/she can fix the problem for the future, but does not help in this case.

The default minimum number of games completed to enter a non-official tournament is five.
Your beef is with the TD who appears to have lowered the minimum number of games completed to two or less rather than increasing it. Don't join his tournaments again if there is a ratings limit.

Wrong. My beef is with the powers that be who sit idly by and allow cheating.
It makes me wonder how they have the nerve to ask me to pay for membership.
Why are unrated players allowed in a tournament that is rating specific? For example, how can an unrated player be considered Under 1800?
