What happens if the first in a group withdraw?

Hi everyone,

A question about tournments: if after all games in a group have finished, the one with the best record withdraws, what will happens? Will the second place guy advance to the next stage? I mean those tournements that just one person advances from each group.

No, but I have withdrawn from a tournament after winning the group. Sadly, this meant that noone advanced from the group .
