Chess Competition Guidelines
1. General Information
• The competition will consist of two phases:
• Elimination Round (Online) – 26th March.
• Final Round (Offline) – 27th & 28th March.
• The tournament will follow standard chess rules as per FIDE regulations.

2. Elimination Round (26th March - Online)
• The elimination round will be conducted online.
• Participants must join a specified tournament lobby at the scheduled time.
• The format will be Arena.
• Time control: 5+0 (5 minutes per player with a 0-second increment).
• Players must ensure a stable internet connection. Disconnection or failure to join on time may result in disqualification.
• Any form of cheating or engine assistance will lead to immediate disqualification.

3. Final Round (27th/28th March - Offline)
• Qualified players from the online round will compete offline at MAIT campus.
• The format will be Knockout.
• Time control: 10+0(10 minutes per player with a 0-second increment).
• Players must arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled matches.
• If a player fails to show up within 10 minutes of their match, they will forfeit the round.
• The tournament will have official arbiters to ensure fair play and resolve disputes.

4. Rules & Conduct
• Touch-move rule applies: If you touch a piece, you must move it unless it has no legal moves.
• Spectators and eliminated players must remain silent during matches.
• Mobile phones and smartwatches must be switched off or placed on silent mode.
• In case of disputes, the arbiter’s decision is final.

5. Registration
• The registration fee for the tournament will be ₹29.
• Participants must register before 26th March 2025.
