ED Chess 2024
General Instructions:
1. Each participant will compete individually.
2. The event will follow a typical Blitz 3+2 time control structure, with each player being allocated 3 minutes for the entire game, plus a 2-second increment per move.
3. Participants must adhere to the rules and regulations of chess, including touch-move rules and time control.
4. All games will be played using standard chess equipment and boards.
5. Participants are expected to demonstrate sportsmanship and fair play throughout the championship.
6. The decisions of the arbiters are final and binding.
7. Any changes to the championship format or schedule will be communicated to participants in advance.
Event Format:
1. The event will consist of multiple rounds.
2. Players will be paired according to the Swiss pairing system.
3. Each game will have a time control of 3 minutes for the entire game, with a 2-second increment per move.
4. A player will be awarded 1 point for each match won, and 0 points for each match lost. There is no penalty for a lost match. In the event of a draw, each player will receive ½ point.
5. The rankings will be determined based on the number of points earned by each participant throughout the rounds.
