19th Sigeman & Co Chess Tournament
The 19th Sigeman Chess Tournament will run from 9-13 June in Malmö, Sweden.
The format is a 6-player single round robin, featuring 3 talented Swedish GMs and 3 overseas GMs headed by Alexei Shirov, who seems to be clocking up a lot of air-miles lately.
16 year-old Anish Giri (pictured) is back to defend his title, and is the second highest seed ahead of another talented young GM, 17 year-old Wesley So of the Philippines.
The local contingent comprises tournament stalwart Jonny Hector, and two new GMs Hans Tikkanen and Nils Grandelius who achieved their titles in 2010.
