2012 SPICE Cup Open
In addition to the 6-player double round-robin invitational SPICE Cup featured in an earlier report, there is also an Open competition taking place from 16-20 October at the SPICE Cup Chess Festival in St.Louis.
The format is a 9 round Swiss featuring 13 GMs out of a total field of 43 players.
There are two rounds every day at 11:00 at 16:00, except the solitary final round on 20 October which starts at 10:00. The time control is Game in 90 minutes with a 30 second increment from the start.
With a guaranteed $10,000 prize fund there is plenty to play for!
