Broadcast

The consolation match of the open section (to determine 3rd & 4th) and the finals of the open section (to determine 1st & 2nd) was played on Sunday, February 27 starting at 6:00 pm PST (9:00 pm EST on Sunday, February 27; 2:00 am UTC on Monday, February 28). It was broadcast on the Twitch channel of @chuckmoulton: twitch.tv/chuckmoulton

Consolation Match

The consolation match features FM chickencrossroad + helmsknight vs. IM littleplotkin + FM GulamaliRises.  Third place will receive $500.  Fourth place will receive $250.  The match will be a best of 40 (first to 21 with a win by 2 condition) at a time control of 2 minutes with no increment.

FM chickencrossroad + helmsknight were the 5th seed in the tournament.  They won their group E in the round robin group stage by beating all 4 teams, advancing to the elimination ladder.  In the ladder they beat YoggSaron99 + HopefulWin (11-2) and BughouseKnight + ChessBrainiac (11-9) to make the top 8.  In the double elimination top 8 they lost to 12teen + BlitzBullet (0-16), then beat clocKingswitcher + ReturnoftheLagger (16-14) and abykhovsky + 1800_strength (16-12).  In the semifinals they lost to 12teen + BlitzBullet (15.5-21.5).

FM chickencrossroad - Daniel Yeager from Philadelphia, PA, USA

helmsknight - Grace Ferguson from Toronto, ON, Canada

IM littleplotkin + FM GulamaliRises were the 6th seed in the tournament.  They won their group F in the round robin group stage by beating all 3 teams, advancing to the elimination ladder.  In the ladder they beat shayka211 + themayor101 (11-1) and tjarkvos + Dielie (11-2) to make the top 8.  In the double elimination top 8 they beat clocKingswitcher + ReturnoftheLagger (16-8), lost to 12teen + BlitzBullet (5-16), then beat EgoSmasher + EEKarf (16-4).  In the semifinals they lost to catask + jefferyx (3-21).

Finals Match
