2nd China Women Chess Masters
The 2nd China Women Masters tournament is underway in Xi Shan, China. The event features 10 women players in a single round-robin event from 9-19 April 2012.
The time control is 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, then 30 minutes to a finish with a 30 seconds increment from the start. There is one rest day on 15 April. The prize fund is ¥215,000 (approx 34,000 USD), with ¥60,000 (approx USD 9,500) for the winner.
The top seed is Ju Wenjun (pictured) who has made a strong start to the event.
The first edition of the tournament was won by women's world champion Hou Yifan, but this year she is competing in the Bangkok Open which starts tomorrow.
