4-Way Tie At The Doeberl Cup

Doeberl_50yrs.jpgThe 50th Doeberl Cup took place from 5-9 April in Canberra, Australia.

The main 'Premier' event ended with 4 players level on a score of 7 points from a 9-round Swiss competition with 80 entrants.

The Hungarian GM Adam Horvath took first place thanks to a superior tie-break score, after drawing with GM Gergely Szabo in the final round.

Indian IM Rathnakaran won his final round game against his compatriot IM Karthikeyan to earn a GM norm and finish among the top scorers on 7 points. Top seed GM Levente Vajda of Romania also won his last game to finish on 7 points.
