Humpy Koneru2.jpgThe 5th FIDE Women's Grand Prix is underway in Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia.

The event has the usual format for these Women's Grand Prix events, with 12 players taking part in a single round robin tournament.

The top seed is India's Humpy Koneru (pictured), with Hou Yifan close behind.  Yifan will be hoping to improve on her showing in the last Grand Prix in Jermuk where she could only manage a mid-table finish.

The winner of the fourth Grand Prix in July, Nana Dzagnidze, is absent this time.

The contest runs from 29 July - 12 August and the FIDE official website promises live coverage and commentary.
