In round two of this new Chinese super-tournament, Lev Aronian (pictured) and Vassily Ivanchuk clashed metaphorical swords with the Armenian ending up the winner in a complicated struggle.

Another decisive game occurred when Sergei Movsesian made amends for his first round loss by beating Peter Svidler with the black pieces, whilst his erstwhile conqueror Bu Xiangzhi drew against top seed and world #1 Veselin Topalov.  See all the games below.
