Round six of the Nanjing Pearl Spring Masters saw the world champion Vishy Anand recover from a disappointing first half of the tournament to score his second win.

Anand beat Wang Yue with black to keep his chances of winning the tournament alive.

On the other hand, both Carlsen and Topalov had to fight hard for draws with the black pieces against Bacrot and Gashimov respectively.

Carlsen's draw against Bacrot ensured that he still leads the event after six rounds.
