Chess Strategy for Club Players - The Road to Positional AdvantageThe voting for the ChessCafe Book of the Year 2009 has ended, and we are delighted to announce that the winner is ... Chess Strategy for Club Players - The Road to Positional Advantage.

According to ChessCafe, Herman Grooten's book beat the other two finalists, Viktor Moskalenko's Revolutionize Your Chess and David Rudel's Zuke 'Em, by taking an early lead and never relinquishing it.

We hope that this award will help Grooten's magnum opus to stand for many years as the best, most complete and most accessible positional manual for amateurs and their trainers.

I don't want to withhold some of the comments posted by the voters:

"My only vote goes to Herman Grooten's masterpiece, a class of its own" "It's superb and I think Nimzo might now rest in peace. It's the new standard of middlegame strategy for all club players!"

Here's your chance to get hold of the ChessCafe Book of the Year!
