Learn With Coach's Personalized Feedback

There is a lot to learn when you're trying to improve at chess. While this challenge is stimulating, it can also be a bit intimidating. But here's what Play Coach can do to help you.

It all starts with providing you with a safe and stress-free environment for you to play and learn. While playing against Coach, he'll praise your good moves and boost your confidence to make sure you get the recognition you deserve and stay motivated to keep playing.

Coach will praise your play

Coach will also be ready to jump in whenever there's an opportunity for you to learn, giving you real-time feedback based on your moves. This personalized advice will allow you to see chess theory in practice and understand exactly where you can improve.

However, Coach doesn’t just tell you what to play—he helps you understand what's going on in a position and encourages you to look for the right answer. This active approach to learning is one of the most effective and engaging ways to improve.

Coach's advice after a bad move

Occasionally, Coach will give you pointers at critical moments of the game, like when a piece is attacked or when you need to make a key positional move to free up your pieces.

Coach gives positional advice

Whenever you're unsure about your move, you can use the Hint button to ask Coach for advice. Coach will tell you what you need to achieve or even highlight pieces to nudge you in the right direction.

Finally, Coach also lets you take back moves and try again. With this, you can instantly go back and try to come up with a better alternative—maybe even asking for one of Coach's hints.

Customize Your Coaching Session

One of the great things about Play Coach is that you can customize your virtual coaching session to fit your vibe and needs. You can start by clicking Coach's avatar to choose from four different coaches, each with their own looks and voice.
