Anton Korobov wins AICF-AAI Chess Cup
Grandmaster Anton Korobov of Ukraine won the 2012 AICF-AAI Cup in New Delhi.
The 6-player double round-robin tournament ran from 21-30 December and was claimed to be the strongest tournament ever held in India.
The Ukrainian finished with 6½/10, a full point ahead of Evgeny Alekseev of Russia to take the first prize of Rs.400,000 (approx USD 7,350). Korobov's win in a final round time scramble against Radoslaw Wojtaszek was crucial.
