Armenia Defeat India, Extend Lead In Ningbo
The Armenian team extended their lead at the World Team Championships in Ningbo, China, after beating India in round six.
Lev Aronian's sparkling victory against Pentala Harikrishna on top board was enough to take the match 2½-1½.
Armenia's nearest rivals failed to keep pace with them. Russia and Ukraine finished deadlocked at 2-2, and Hungary drew with the US team, thanks to a win by Yasser Seirawan against Judit Polgar - on her birthday!
Israel and Azerbaijan also ended all square at 2-2, but China hammered Egypt 3½-½ to stay in the top half with three rounds remaining. Egypt have yet to win or draw a match.
