Bundesliga: Porz beats Baden Baden
This weekend was the second Bundesliga weekend and the most important match was OSC Baden Baden against SG K?ɬ?ln Porz. While Baden Baden player Anand was playing blitz all weekend in Moscow, his team mate Shirov did play, after he took a couple of plains earlier from the Russian capital. White thought he could permit himself 38.c6?. The idea was that 38...Qe4+ 39.Kg1 Qxc6 wasn't possible because the rook on e2 would be lost. However, Shirov did play 38...Qe4+ 39.Kg1 Qxc6 and after 40.Qxe2 came the same theme: 40...Qb6+ 41.Nc5 Qxd8 and resigns.Not all teams have played the same number of matches.
