The 57 year old Karpov won blitz playoffs against the 14 year old Hou Yifan and the 16 year old Fabiano Caruana before losing out to 20 year old Hiraku Nakamura in the semi-finals!  Their combined ages are still less than his! Well done Anatoly Yevgenyevich!
