Cap d'Agde Rapid Tournament
This year's French Cap d'Agde chess festival takes place from 26 October - 1 November and includes a very strong rapidplay event (25 mins + 10 sec) with 16 top grandmasters - including some top women players - taking part.
Top seed is Vassily Ivanchuk (pictured). Also playing are Magnus Carlsen, Teimour Radjabov, Hikaru Nakamura and former world champion Anatoly Karpov. The full line up can be found in the table below.
The 16 players are initially divided into two groups of 8. The top 4 from each group then advance to play in head-to-head quarter-finals, with the winner of group A playing the fourth placed in group B and so on, with the final on 1 November. Should be an entertaining event!
