Car accident Ilyumzhinov: minor injuries
FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov could not attend the opening ceremony of the Olympiad in Dresden as he was involved in a car accident on his way to the airport. Russian media report that he was taken to hospital with a concussion.While a chauffeur was driving him to the airport to go to Dresden, Ilyumzhinov's Mercedes hit a Ford Focus of a 21-year-old girl. The entire front of the car was crushed. The FIDE President had to go to hospital with bruises to the head and a neck crick. Later he was diagnosed a concussion too. The girl who was driving the Ford also had some minor injuries.Sources:
