Magnus Carlsen (pictured) recovered from a loss yesterday to record his fourth win at Biel, completing the double over Yannick Pelletier.

Alexander Morozevich and Alexei Shirov had a wild encounter which the Russian really should have won, but when the dust finally settled on an amazing game, a draw was agreed.

The clash between Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and Fabiano Caruana also ended in a draw.
