Chess.com Raises Over $15,000 for Baden Baden Snowballs
After the Baden Baden Snowballs had all of their personal belongings stolen at the PRO Chess League Live Finals earlier this month, the Chess.com community came together to support the German side last Saturday.
"I'm just speechless. This evening I got to experience the whole spectrum of humanity. What happened to us in San Francisco, I couldn't imagine considering where I am from, and what I am witnessing now, I also could not imagine - now on the positive end," said GM Georg Meier as the Baden Baden Snowballs Charity Drive came to a close. The Chess.com Twitch community raised $15,566 over two hours to support the PRO Chess League team.
To get there, members of Chess.com's Commentary and Streaming community donated raffle prizes to support the Snowballs, including IMs John Bartholomew, Levy Rozman, Danny Rensch, Hans Niemann, Anna Rudolf, WFM Alexandra Botez, and GoldDustTori.
Fans will not have to wait long to see Baden Baden in action again, as the Snowballs will participate in the PRO Chess League Summer Series in Group B, alongside Barcelona, Pittsburgh, and Reykjavik.
Prizes
To help raise $15,566 for the Baden Baden Snowballs, we've compiled the list of donors below. Every donor was entered into a raffle (some prizes were raffled on stream, others after the stream) to win the various prizes offered by Chess.com and the streaming community. Donors who gave more than $50 receive a bonus membership of 3-months of diamond 
while those who gave between $10 and $50 receive a complimentary 1-month diamond . Of course, this is separate from the raffle prizes. We wanted to specifically thank these donors for their contributions.
N.B. We are reaching out to every donor individually to coordinate delivery of the prizes. With over 70 donors, this may take us a few days. We'll be going in alphabetical order so ZaeemA, we love you, but please be patient with us! Once again, we appreciate everyone's support!
