Chess Giants kick off
Subdued first day in Yerevan
The Yerevan "Chess Giants" rapid tournament in Armenia had a subdued start following the announcement before the day's games of the death of the young Armenian GM, Karen Asrian.
The first 2 rounds of this rapid tournament were played today and only 2 games ended decisively. Peter Leko crushed Bu Xiangxhi and Alexander Morozevich (pictured) was gifted a win when Boris Gelfand blundered allowing his Queen and King to be forked by Moro's Knight.
