China Dominates The Asian Nations Cup

China dominated the 2012 Asian Nations Cup in Shandong province, China, winning both the open and women's sections.

The event took place from 15-27 May, with the Open competition being a 9 round Swiss and the Women's event a 9 round round-robin.

In the Open section, the Chinese team won 8 matches, drew 1 and lost none. Their victorious team consisted of Wang Hao, Wang Yue, Li Chao, Ding Liren and Yu Yangyi.

The only draw conceded by the winning Chinese was with second placed India, while third place was claimed by a second Chinese team!

In the women's event the Chinese team won all 9 of their matches to emphatically trounce the opposition.  They were Zhao Xue, Ju Wenjun, Shen Yang, Huang Qian and Ding Yixin.
