Sergei Karjakin bounced back from his loss to Ivanchuk in round 8, with a victory against former leader Movsesian in round 9.  In a tight field, Movsesian drops to fourth place.  Aronian and Dominguez joined Karjakin (pictured) at the top after winning their games against Kamsky and Stellwagen respectively.

In the B Group, Nigel Short pushed hard for a long time against Mecking to try to extend his lead, but a draw was the end result.  Caruana and Vallejo Pons both won their games, as did Navara who beat Sasikiran, who is having a terrible tournament despite being the top rated player.

The C Group was once again an absolute bloodbath, with only one game being drawn!  Hillarp Persson retains his lead, just half a point ahead of Wesley So.
