This year's Sparkassen Chess-Meeting in Dortmund runs from the 15-25 July and 9-time winner Vladimir Kramnik (pictured) will be aiming to make it to double figures!
Also returning from last year's event are Peter Leko (a mere 3-time winner) and Arkadij Naiditsch (winner in 2005). However, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov and Ruslan Ponomariov are the closest challengers to Kramnik according to the ratings, and the young Vietnamese talent Le Quang Liem is an intruiging addition to the fray.
Quang Liem qualified for Dortmund by winning the Aeroflot Open in February.
