There was an eight way tie for first in the 2007 Miami Chess Open!

 

The final standings were:

1-8) GM Nakamura, GM Izoria, GM Mikhalevski, GM Shabalov, GM Akobian, GM Sadvakasov, GM Panchanathan, IM Sarkar (6.5/9) 

9-11) GM Becerra, IM Bachmann, IM Pruess (6/9)

 

The suprising result of the tournament was IM Justin Sarkar finishing with a +4 score to tie for first place.

This was a very long and grinding game where IM Justin Sarkar slowly out-maneuvered and outplayed his opponent. This was a very rewarding last round win for him to finish with one of the best results of his career.
