12th Euro Indiv Champs logo.jpgThe 12th European Individual Chess Championships run from 21 March - 3 April in Aix-les-Bains, France.

The competition format is an 11-round Swiss event, with over 400 players taking part including top seed Peter Svidler, reigning champion Ian Nepomniachtchi, and the world's #1 woman player Judit Polgar.

The prize fund is a very respectable €120,000, with the lucky winner pocketing €20,000. The top 23 finishers will also qualify to take part in the 2011 Chess World Cup.

The action starts each day at 3pm local time, with the first round on Tuesday 22 March. 29 March is a rest day, and the final round is on 2 April.
