At the NH Tournament in the Netherlands, the 'Experience' team beat the 'Rising Stars' by a score of 27.5-22.5 in an entertaining contest.

The stronger line-up for this year's 'Experience' team finally saw them end a run of three consecutive defeats, which included a real hammering last year.

Peter Heine Nielsen of Denmark recorded the best overall individual score with an impressive 6.5/10.  The best score on the 'Rising Stars' team came from 24 year-old Jan Smeets (pictured) beating favourites Hikaru Nakamura and Fabiano Caruana.

Smeets' prize for his victory is an invite to the glamorous Amber Blindfold and Rapid Tournament next year.

Nakamura suffered from flu symptoms throughout the tournament (including at one point a nosebleed during a game!) and performed well below par.
