Čez Chess Trophy - Svidler Vs Navara

For the 10th successive year the #1 Czech player David Navara will play a match against a strong Grandmaster as part of the Čez Chess Festival in the city of Prague.

This year Navara faces the six-time Russian champion, and 2011 World Cup winner, Peter Svidler in a four-game match.

Navara's opponents have been of very high quality - in reverse chronological order they were Sergei Movsesian (2011), Judit Polgar (2010), Vassily Ivanchuk (2009), Vladimir Kramnik (2008), Nigel Short (2007), Boris Gelfand (2006), Anatoly Karpov (2005), Alexei Shirov (2004) and Viktor Korchnoi (2003).

The chess festival takes place from 20 - 24 June in Malostranská Beseda in Prague and includes simultaneous displays, chess lectures, and an exhibition of chess-related philately.

The time control will be 90 minutes for 30 moves, with a 30 second increment from the start.  There is a rest day on 22 June when both players will give simultaneous exhibitions.
