Hey, chess fans!

Today we're happy to announce that our new and improved member profile page is available to all members!

Along with a visual refresh, the page got some technical improvements, and two new features: member status and flair.

Status & Flair

For your status, you can enter up to 50 characters of text to say how you're doing, sum up your chess philosophy, offer a really short movie review, or drop in a favorite quotation...whatever you like (as long as it's community-friendly, of course).

Flair is a bit more visual! You can now change your membership icon to something that feels a little more you! As with status, you can change it as often as you like.

Select Flair

So far, you can choose from more colorful versions of our classic membership icons, faces and common emoji, chess themes, holiday themes, ChessTV/Twitch personalities, computer chess, and the Pro Chess League...and there's more to come! You can even choose to display no icon at all, regardless of your membership level.

To change your status or flair, just visit your settings page, or edit them directly on any page that includes your profile details at the top.

You can also see (and edit your own) status phrases and flair from the member pop-up.

Please note that status is a free feature, and flair is premium-only. (And you can't choose rainbow Diamond flair if you're a Gold member, of course! That would be crazy. )

We hope you enjoy these and all the changes to the new profile page. Now get out there and express yourself! You can also let us know what you think the old-fashioned way, in the comments.
