Anand is the new world Champion! He was undefeated throughout the event and finished on a +4 score.

 

The final round games were:

GM Anand - GM Leko, 1/2-1/2

GM Kramnik - GM Aronian, 1-0

GM Svidler - GM Grischuk, 1-0

GM Morozevich - GM Gelfand, 1/2-1/2

 

The final standings:

1) GM Anand (9/14)

2-3) GM Kramnik, GM Gelfand (8/14)

4) GM Leko (7/14)

5) GM Svidler (6.5/14)

6-7) GM Morozevich, GM Aronian (6/14)

8) GM Grischuk (5.5/14)

Some time next year Anand will have to defend his title against Kramnik in a match. Who will win and hold the title next year? Will Anand keep up his momentum and retain the title or will Kramnik continue his amazing match play and steal the title back?
