Five fighting draws

In the second round of the Tal Memorial, five hard-fought draws didn't change the standings, so Leko is still leading with plus one. Yesterday he didn't achieve much with White against Kamsky, which is good news for Pirc lovers. Gelfand-Kramnik saw a very interesting tactical squirmish that quite surprisingly ended in an equal position and Jakovenko seemed to be well prepared for Ivanchuk's 9.d4 Marshall. Mamedyarov keeps on trying the Neo-Steinitz and why not. Shirov got some initiative but not more. Alekseev was probably the closest to a win but his extra pawn was not enough against Carlsen.
