It’s no secret that pro athletes love to play chess, even the ones who prefer skates and skis over sneakers and cleats. That’s why this month we’re rolling out the Frozen Five, a team of winter sport athletes who love to warm up with a game of chess after a long day in the cold. Take on a fierce ice skater, a hockey goalie with rock-solid defense, and even an entire bobsled team. Can you make your way to the top of the mountain and defeat them all? Find out now on the Play Computer page.

Bobsled Team

Playing strength: 800

Strap in for a high-speed downhill race with Bob, Bobbi, Roberta, and…Justin? We’re not sure how Justin joined the bobsled team.

Curler

Playing strength: 350

Don’t let his politeness fool you. This curler will sweep you off the board with a smile!

Figure Skater

Playing strength: 1350

You thought figure skaters were all grace and elegance? You haven’t met this one. She’s got an ice-cold demeanor and a temper that runs hot!

Snowboarder

Playing strength: 1800

Most would describe the snowboarder as chill, but when the competition heats up, she’ll show off some seriously high-flying moves.

Goalie

Playing strength: 2850

The toughest of the Frozen Five, the goalie has a brick-wall defense and an impenetrable iciness. Nothing gets past him.

Which of these winter sports would be the hardest to play while simultaneously playing chess? Let us know what you think in the comments!
