Game 5 Deadlock In Zurich
The penultimate game of the 6-game match between Vladimir Kramnik and Levon Aronian ended in a draw today in Zurich.
Vladimir Kramnik switched back to 1.Nf3 and Lev Aronian was able to comfortably gain equality. It seemed that the rest of the game would be without interest, but there was a flurry of activity near the end, before a repetition of moves brought proceedings to a finish.

The time control in operation is 40 moves in 120 minutes, followed by 20 moves in 60 minutes, and then 15 minutes plus a 30 second increment to finish. The main sponsor is IGC (International Gemological Laboratories).
