National chess leagues can easily be overlooked among the high profile supertournaments and other GM matches that grace our computer screens.

However, the German chess league, the Schachbundesliga, is among the most powerful in the world, featuring imported talent from all around the world including the biggest names in the game e.g. world champion Vishy Anand.

This weekend the latest rounds of the Schachbundesliga take place, and Anand is in action for the league leaders OSC Baden-Baden.

All the action can be followed at the official website.
