GM Negi Wins 2008 Philadelphia International

The Philadelphia International event was held from June 26-30, 2008 at the Philadelphia Center City Sheraton. The event had 5 GM participants and many more titled players to make it a very competitive field. GM Parimarjan Negi won the event with a score of 7/9 taking home first prize of $2,000.

In other news Gabriel Battaglini rated 2356 earned an IM norm with a score of 6/9 and IM Arun Prasad finished with a score of 6.5/9 which brings him over the 2500 rating mark to earn the GM title as he already had 3 GM norms.
