First you're up and then you're down.  Proving that the Grand Slam Final is a closer contest than the unusual scoring system suggests, Lev Aronian (pictured) and Vassily Ivanchuk beat Veselin Topalov and Magnus Carlsen respectively in round 7 to narrow the gap at the top.

Magnus Carlsen still holds a narrow lead, but with just three rounds to go, a lot of moves are still left to be played.  Who will claim the 150.000 € first prize?

Player Games Win Draw  Loss POINTS
Magnus Carlsen 7 3 2 2 11
Veselin Topalov 7 2 4 1 10
Levon Aronián 7 2 3 2 9
Vasily Ivanchuk 7 1 5 1 8
Viswanathan Anand 7 0 6 1 6
Teimour Radjabov 7 0 6 1 6

Topalov takes a closer look at his position.
