Happy Birthday Garry Kasparov

On April 13th, 1963 a baby boy called Karri Kimovich Weinstein was born in Baku, Azerbaijan.  He went on to become better known as Garry Kasparov and dominated the chess world for decades - being recognised as the World Champion from 1985 to 2000.

He retired from chess in March 2005 to focus on Russian politics, which he has attacked with the same skill and determination that he once showed at the chess board.  Politics' gain is chess' loss.

Happy 45th birthday, Garry Kimovich.
