Harikrishna Wins Cappelle la Grande
The #3 ranked Indian player Pentala Harikrishna (pictured) won the 2012 Capelle-la-Grande tournament in France. Harikrishna finished narrowly ahead of his countryman Parimarjan Negi and three other players on tie-break with a score of 7 points.
Harikrishna previously won the B Group tournament at Tata Steel in January, earning himself an invite to the A Group next year.
The competition ran from 3-10 March and featured a very big field of nearly 500 competing for the €30,000 prize fund. The format was a nine round Swiss Open and there were 14 players rated over 2600 Elo.
