IM Sopiko Guramishvili To Host Sub-Saturday This Week
The hit Twitch chess show Sub-Saturdays will be hosted this week by special guest IM Sopiko Guramishvili who is currently hosting the Women's Speed Chess Championship alongside IM Anna Rudolf.
Tune in this Saturday at 11:30 a.m. PDT on www.Twitch.tv/Chess for your chance to battle against Sopiko in a 5|0 blitz showdown. You can follow Sopiko and subscribe to her Twitch channel at www.Twitch.tv/SopikoGuramishvili.
A mainstay of the chess commentary community, Sopiko is the wife of Super GM Anish Giri who is currently participating in the Grand Chess Tour Croatia and will be playing as one of the top seeds in the 2019 Speed Chess Championship.
This will be Guramishvili's first time streaming on Chess.com on her own and the fan favorite is sure to provide a stiff challenge for any subscribers willing to go toe-to-toe with her.
More information about the Sub-Saturdays concept can be found below.
The chess world is growing fast on Twitch, and we need more events to show our appreciation!
Starting Saturday, January 26, and continuing every Saturday at 12 p.m. (noon) Pacific, the Twitch channel with the largest following of chess enthusiasts will be taken over by a different chess streamer or top grandmaster.
For three hours, each special guest chess celebrity will take over Twitch.tv/chess with games and instructional analysis just for our subscribers! As a subscriber, you can play a master, and the master will provide brief analysis of the game with the key takeaways for learning.
Then on to the next game! Sub-Saturdays will see the guest host play subscribers in 5|0 blitz for the right balance of getting enough games against the excited viewers, but also offering a little more time than a normal bullet game often seen on streams. Subscribers should come planning to play their absolute best chess against this celebrity, and hopefully learn as much as they can from the game.

Kicking things off will be none other than two of the most well-known faces to the chess streaming community: Grandmaster Aman Hambleton debuts this event on Saturday, January 26, with IM Danny Rensch providing the sequel on Saturday, February 2.
Then, it's back-to-back super-grandmasters taking over the chess channel: Maxime-Vachier-Lagrave and Hikaru Nakamura have confirmed they plan to keep the party going on February 9 and 16, respectively.
Fans should look for announcements regarding who steps in next on the Chess.com/TV Calendar.
GM Robson hopes to see you on April 27 at 12 p.m. Pacific!
Tune in to Chess.com/TV or Twitch.tv/Chess for your chance to play and learn, and let us know in the comments who you would like to see take over the chess channel to fulfill your chess dreams!
