Vassily Ivanchuk has won the 45th Capablanca Memorial Tournament in Havana, Cuba, with an undefeated score of 7/10.

Ivanchuk led from the start following a first round win against Nigel Short (see previous report), and despite being pushed all the way by 19 year-old Russian Ian Nepomniatchi, he achieved a deserved tournament victory.

Neponmiatchi's spectacular 25...Nxg2 in round eight against Short deserves mention!
