The 2007 World Cup champion, Gata Kamsky (pictured), has been knocked out of the current competition in round three by Wesley So.  Kamsky needed a win after losing the first game yesterday, but it wasn't to be.

Elsewhere, Judit Polgar avoided Gelfand's Petroff defence and pulled a nice win out of the bag to keep her hopes alive.  Sergei Karjakin also won his game against David Navara to level the scores and take their match to tie-breaks.

With a total of 10 out of 16 matches still undecided, tomorrow's playoffs will be a busy day!
