Sergey Karjakin (pictured) drew with the black pieces against Magnus Carlsen in Round 6 to maintain his narrow lead at Corus on 4 points, just ahead of the chasing pack on 3.5.

It has been a very even tournament so far, with Magnus Carlsen surprisingly drawing every game so far, despite achieving some promising positions, including the game with Karjakin.

Teimour Radjabov bounced back from his loss in the previous round to win by gradually grinding down Kamsky in a Caro-Kann.  Sergei Movsesian also piled on the misery for Morozevich who is clear last on 1.5 points.  In a chess dictionary, under 'streaky player' a good example to give would be Morozevich!

The other decisive game in the A group came when Mickey Adams gradually overwhelmed Wang Yue on the black side of a QGD Tartakower.

It was another good result for England as Nigel Short won a nice game with the black pieces against Reinderman in the B Group, ending in checkmate in the run-up to the first time control, to move him into a share of the lead with Kasimdzhanov and Navara.

In the C Group, Wesley So won again today to take the sole lead on 4.5/6.
