Kasparov Blitz Exhibition! (Updated With Video)
Garry Kasparov's voluntary exile from competitive chess six years ago left a big vacuum at the top, but he hasn't completely abandoned the royal game.
Garry Kasparov today played a 2-game exhibition blitz match in Clichy, France, against Maxime Vachier-Lagrave to promote his Chess In Schools initiative in Europe.
The time control was 5 minutes, plus 3 second increments.
Maxime Vachier-Lagrave qualified for the match by first beating Laurent Fressinet in a sudden-death decider after they had drawn two blitz games.
Who won? What do you think? The Beast From Baku can still produce a mighty roar!
